Find the username and password

Common factory defaults are admin/admin or admin/password, but the exact login varies by brand. Check the sticker on the bottom of the router, search your model in the router password finder, or look it up in our default router passwords reference. If someone changed it and you don't know the new password, you'll need to reset the router.

Routers that use 192.168.50.1

192.168.50.1 is a common default for these brands:

  • Asus (newer models)

Because the address can be changed, the only way to be sure is to check your device's default gateway.

Confirm 192.168.50.1 is your router's address

  • Windows: open Command Prompt, run ipconfig, and read the "Default Gateway" line.
  • macOS: System Settings → Network → Details → TCP/IP, and read "Router".
  • iPhone / Android: Wi-Fi settings → your network → look for "Router" or "Gateway".

If the gateway shown is not 192.168.50.1, type that address instead. New to this? See how to access your router settings.

192.168.50.1 won't load?

  • Disable any VPN and try again on the local network.
  • Try another browser or an incognito window.
  • Power-cycle the router, or factory reset it as a last resort.
